Top 29 Songs of 2009

A part of my life that really lives in the shadows is something I used to do in college. During my first year at UVA I had a bit of cash left over from selling my first car and decided to put that towards starting up as a DJ. I played for a good number of parties, UVA organizations, the UVA football team and even a wedding. The time came though to sell all of that and put the focus back on school. Now though, I want back in!

Thanks to a push from Jenny and my friends, I’m now officially a DJ again. To celebrate, I made this mix of my top 29 songs from 2009.

DJ Hero for Wii Unboxing, Demo and Review

I’ve been incredibly excited to tear into DJ Hero, the same company that is responsible for Guitar Hero. Today I received my game in the mail and opened it up for everyone to see then began putting it through the paces. The result? This is a fantastic game! As I head into my qualifying “exam” for graduate school, I find myself craving comfort food often. Sadly, most of those foods aren’t exactly conducive to a healthy diet. Happily, many other people have worked out delicious, healthy, comforting foods like this quinoa breakfast bowl that I’ve been eating for breakfast, snacks, dessert…you name it.

How We Handled Holiday Travel, 2009

It’s important to us that we balance both of our families.  It’s difficult, because my family is in Ohio while Brad’s is an hour away.  It’s also complicated because we both want to be with our own families at Christmas, while not wanting to be apart.

The solution we came up with is not ideal, but it will work.

Video of Bdub watching TV

We were sitting on the couch earlier and Bdub decided he was interested in the puppies that were on TV. Ten minutes later he was in the exact same spot so I decided to capture it. He did this for a solid 15 minutes. It was crazy. Between baseball, football and now the animal planet, he watches lots of TV.
